If it is proven that the continuation of the pregnancy would cause harm to the mother's life, and there is no way to avoid it except through abortion, then there is no objection to it, because preserving the mother's life takes precedence. However, abortion for a lesser harm than that is forbidden and not permissible, and the mere deformity of the fetus is not a legitimate justification for abortion.
