What is the ruling on dyeing the beard a color close to that of the skin so that it does not show, and what should I do if that is impermissible, knowing that the school where I teach does not allow growing a beard?

This issue is referred to as "lightening the beard," and its ruling is similar to that of lightening the eyebrows. Some scholars (such as the scholars of the Permanent Committee) prohibited it, considering it an alteration of Allah's creation and a resemblance to namṣ (plucking eyebrows) or shaving the beard. Others (such as Sheikh Al-Uthaymeen) permitted it, arguing that it is a temporary dye that does not alter Allah's creation and is not namṣ. The more preponderant opinion is that if there is no necessity, a Muslim should not do it to avoid disagreement. However, for one who is compelled to do so, there is no harm in it.
