Has the sister become irrevocably divorced with an irreversible divorce after her husband repeated the phrase "you are divorced" three times in one sitting, three consecutive times, knowing that he intended one divorce the first time, then repeated the phrase with the intention again, and the husband did not take her back after the first divorce? And does she have to observe the 'iddah (waiting period prescribed by Islamic law), and what is its duration, given that she is breastfeeding?

If a man intends a single divorce by his expression, only one occurs. Repeating the phrase twice separately is not accepted judicially as a confirmation and notification of the occurrence of divorce, but it is accepted between him and Allah. Some scholars are of the opinion that successive divorces without a new marriage contract or a return (revocation) count as one. The divorced woman's iddah (waiting period) is determined by three menstrual cycles, or delivery if pregnant, or three months depending on her situation. If menstruation stops for a known reason, she waits until it returns. If it stops for an unknown reason, her iddah is a full year. If the divorce is not yet the third, the husband has the right to take his wife back during the iddah. If the iddah ends, he cannot take her back except with a new marriage contract. If the three divorces are completed, the husband does not have the right to take her back unless she marries another man, consummates the marriage with him, and then he divorces her or dies, and her iddah from him expires. It is advisable to present the matter to the Sharia court or to trusted scholars.
