How can a person protect themselves and their family from the evil eye and envy when they are in different countries?
It is prescribed to protect one's family by supplicating for them in their absence, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence is answered. At his head, there is an angel appointed; whenever he supplicates for his brother with good, the appointed angel says: 'Ameen, and to you the like of it.'"
It is also prescribed to regularly seek refuge with what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge for his grandchildren: "I seek refuge for both of you with the perfect words of Allah, from every devil and every harmful creature, and from every evil eye."
It is recommended to regularly recite the morning and evening supplications: "O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my flaws. O Allah, protect me from before me, and from behind me, and from my right, and from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being unexpectedly seized from beneath me." It is not a condition that the supplicant and the one being supplicated for are in the same place.
