What is the ruling regarding my Hajj and my mother’s Hajj, given that we took advantage of some of the dispensations of ease in Hajj due to overcrowding and illness, and we faced circumstances beyond our control? Does this entail a compensatory sacrifice (dam)? If so, is it permissible to fast instead of the compensatory sacrifice, and is it permissible to fast on behalf of my mother?

If you have taken a concession by emulating someone trustworthy among the people of knowledge, then nothing is binding upon you, Allah willing, such as departing from Arafat before sunset, or stoning before noon on the first day of Nafr, or not spending the night in Mina due to an excuse.

As for not spending the night in Muzdalifah, it is obligatory; if you are unable to enter it, there is no sin upon you. However, if you fall short in fulfilling it, you must offer a sacrifice (dam) to be slaughtered in Mecca; if you are unable to do so, then you must fast for ten days. If the sacrifice becomes binding upon you, or if you wish to be cautious, then you must slaughter a sacrificial animal (hady) for every obligation you neglected, or fast for ten days if you are unable to offer the hady. If your mother is unable to offer the hady, she must fast for ten days; if she is unable to do so, then there is nothing upon her. It is permissible to adopt the view of those who mandate only one hady for neglecting all of these matters.
