What is the share of the wife and children—males and females—from the inheritance of the deceased grandfather, which includes money and indivisible assets such as his house and car?
The share of an heir does not differ based on whether the inheritance is divisible or not. Just as a wife inherits one-eighth of the cash, so too does she inherit one-eighth of the car, house, and furniture. Whatever cannot be practically divided is sold, and its price is distributed among the heirs. For one who passed away leaving a wife, four sons, and four daughters, and no other heirs, the wife receives one-eighth (12 shares), and the remainder goes to the sons by ta'sib, with the male receiving the equivalent of the share of two females. Thus, each son receives (14 shares) and each daughter receives (7 shares). The inheritance is divided into (96 shares).
