What is the ruling on listening to calm music based on sending successive monophonic sound waves, which works to stimulate the brain and increase concentration in studying, does not distract from the remembrance of Allah, and in which the listener finds no pleasure?

Every sound emanating from a musical instrument, melodious and harmonious, is considered among the prohibited musical instruments (ma'azif) which are unlawful to listen to. Its permissibility is not established by claims that it aids in seeking knowledge, or that it does not distract from the remembrance of Allah, or that there is no pleasure in listening to it, because such claims might be a beautification from Satan.
