Must a girl suffering from involuntary urination inform a suitor about her condition before marriage, and when should this be done, and is not informing considered deception?
Scholars have differed regarding enuresis (bedwetting) and whether it constitutes a defect that necessitates the annulment of marriage. The Malikis agreed that it is a defect if the bedwetting occurs only during intercourse. The more preponderant opinion is that the matter depends on the nature of the condition. If the enuresis is repulsive and negates the purpose of marriage, which is affection and mercy, then the suitor must be informed of it. This should be done at the beginning of the engagement, and one of the suitor's female relatives should convey the information, with the condition that they conceal the matter if the marriage does not take place. However, if its occurrence is at distant intervals and is not impactful, then there is no obligation to disclose it.
