What is the definitive remedy for extreme nervousness that could lead to another marital failure?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Anger is a blameworthy disease that is treated by striving against the self to achieve forbearance and suppress rage. One can seek help in this by remembering the reward for those who do not succumb to the call of their anger, and for the angry person to seek refuge with Allah from the accursed Shaytan, for the strong one is he who controls himself when angry. Ibn Uthaymeen mentioned that anger is a spark thrown by Shaytan into the heart of the son of Adam, and anger may lead to decisions and actions that are regretted. It is legislated for the angry person to seek refuge with Allah from Shaytan, perform ablution (wudu'), change his posture (such as sitting down if standing, or lying down if sitting), and if he fears, to leave the place. Its remedy is to recall the praise of forbearance and humility in the Sharia, to remain silent, and to perform ablution.
