What is the Sharia ruling regarding a wife who lied to her husband concerning a condition for divorce, and he does not know her truthfulness from her falsehood?

Suspending a divorce upon a condition brings it into effect, according to the majority of scholars, if the condition is met. This is the established legal opinion (al-mufta bihi). So, if the husband ascertains that his wife has done the action upon which the divorce was suspended, then the divorce occurs; otherwise, it does not. If knowledge of the matter can only be obtained from the wife, then her statement is considered valid. Some scholars are of the opinion that if a man suspends his wife's divorce on her informing him of something, and he does not know if she is truthful or false, then she is divorced from him religiously (diyanatan). It is preferable to refer the matter to the Sharia court for a ruling.
