What is the ruling on narrating poetry such as this: "Remember My beauty since I created you a drop And do not forget My forming and My kindness in the womb And submit the matter to Me and know that I decree My judgments and do what I will"? And what does the sayer say? And to whom does he attribute it?

The name of the composer of the aforementioned verses, which speak about Allah Almighty, has not been found. There is no clear legal ruling regarding composing poetry as if Allah is speaking. However, it is safer to avoid this. Nevertheless, it does not appear to be forbidden if the meanings are befitting of Allah, as Ibn al-Qayyim did in his "Nuniyyah" by mentioning a Qudsi Hadith as if it were from the words of Allah. Similarly, scholars do speak words from themselves and relate them back to Allah, as Ibn al-Qayyim did in "Madarij al-Salikin" and Ibn al-Jawzi in "Al-Tabsira," from the perspective of relating the meaning.
