What is the true number of women a man will have in Paradise, and are they human women, or wide-eyed houris, or slave-girls? And how will justice be achieved among them, given that a man will be preoccupied with one of them for a long period?

The description of the qualities of the women of Paradise was provided in a previous fatwa. As for the number of wives a believer will have in Paradise, Imam Al-Iraqi stated that the minimum a believer will have from the women of this world are two wives, and the minimum from the Houris (maidens of Paradise) are seventy wives. As for anything more than that, there is no limit. Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that for the believer in Paradise there will be a tent made of a hollow pearl, sixty miles long, in which he will have family whom he visits, and none of them will see each other. As for the question of justice, it is out of place, for the Hereafter is the abode of justice and truth, and everyone there will be in bliss and happiness, and Allah will remove rancor and sorrow from the hearts of its inhabitants.
