If the deceased left behind only a grandmother, a wife, sons, and daughters, then the grandmother receives one-sixth, and the wife receives one-eighth due to the presence of a lineal descendant (al-far' al-warith). The remainder is for the sons and daughters by way of ta'sib (residuary inheritance), with the male receiving the share of two females. There is nothing for the remaining heirs mentioned, including the fetus, as they are completely excluded (mahjubun hujub hirmān) by the son. The fatwa stresses that matters of inheritance are serious and complex and must be referred to the Sharia courts for investigation.
