The jurists mentioned that fear for one's life is among the excuses that permit absence from Jumu'ah prayer. So, whoever fears for his life from an unjust ruler, or an enemy, or a thief, or any harm that may befall him, is permitted to be absent from Jumu'ah and congregational prayers. This includes fear for one's self, or wealth, or family, or honor, or religion. Whoever is in such a state is excused for his absence from Jumu'ah and congregational prayers, and he must maintain them once the reasons for fear cease.
