Is ablution only required for prayer if semen is discharged without desire, and what are the characteristics of semen discharged without desire?

The emission of semen without desire, due to illness or similar reasons, does not necessitate ghusl (ritual bathing) according to the majority of scholars. Instead, it only necessitates wudu (ablution) for prayer, circumambulation (tawaf), and similar acts of worship.

The meaning of semen emission without desire is that it exits with the characteristics of semen (color and odor) but without pleasure. Its cause might be an illness, cold, lifting a heavy object, a back injury, or similar reasons.

It is stated in Kashshaf al-Qina': "If water exits for other reasons, such as illness, cold, or a back injury, from someone who is not asleep, or similar cases like a mad person, an unconscious person, or a drunkard, it does not necessitate ghusl."
