What is the religious ruling concerning a husband who is negligent in performing prayers regularly, combines prayers, or delays them beyond their prescribed times, does not pray in congregation, and views religion as a restriction? You should invite your husband to Allah with wisdom, explaining that establishing the rituals of Islam is not extremism, and that the disbelievers will never be pleased with him unless he abandons his religion, so let him beware of buying their satisfaction with Allah's wrath. Remind him that man was created for worship and not just for eating and drinking, and that neglecting prayer is a grave sin that exposes him to Allah's punishment, and that it can amount to disbelief according to some scholars. Explain to him that Islamic rituals are the pinnacle of liberation, and that true happiness lies in servitude to Allah. Advise him gently and kindly, and pray for him.
