What is the ruling on compelling a person to accept a worldly matter or point of view, and is this considered oppression and tyranny?

Compulsion is forcing someone to do something they do not want to do; it is synonymous with coercion. The general principle is that it is not permissible to coerce anyone into a worldly matter or a worldly viewpoint. Such coercion is considered unjust oppression. Unjust coercion is forbidden and a major sin, because it indicates a lack of concern for religion and is a form of injustice. Allah has forbidden injustice for Himself and has made it forbidden among His servants.
