Is an illness resulting from a previous illicit relationship considered an affliction and an expiation for sins after repentance?

We ask Allah to guide the questioner, strengthen him, forgive his sins, and expiate his evil deeds. The questioner should be joyful about his repentance, for Allah accepts the repentance of His servants no matter how great the sin. The illnesses he contracted due to unlawful acts are punishments for sins, and these punishments are good for the believer, for they expiate his evil deeds if he is patient and seeks reward from Allah.
