What are the names of the wives of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with whom he consummated marriage are: Khadijah, Sawdah, Aisha, Hafsah, Zaynab bint Khuzaymah, Umm Salamah, Umm Habibah, Juwayriyah, Maymunah, Safiyah, and Zaynab bint Jahsh. There is disagreement regarding Rayhanah bint Zayd al-Nadriyyah as to whether she was one of his wives or concubines. As for those whom he proposed to, or who offered themselves to him but he did not marry, their number varies, but scholars refute large numbers and mention only a few examples such as al-Jawniyyah and al-Kalbiyyah.
