What is meant by "O sister of Aaron" in verse 28 of Surat Maryam?
The verse, "O sister of Harun," has several interpretations: either what is meant is Harun, the brother of Musa, attributing Mary to him in worship, or because she was from his progeny. Or, that she had a brother named Harun who was a righteous man, and she was attributed to him for their shared righteousness. Or, that he was a wicked man and she was attributed to him in reproach.
As for the verse, "Your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste," its meaning is: her parents were not known for evil or unchastity, so how could she have done such a thing.
