What is the ruling on men and women wearing iron watches if the intention is 80% for adornment and 20% for knowing the time?

There is no objection to a man wearing an iron watch, even if he intends to adorn himself with it. Its ruling is similar to that of an iron ring, which some scholars have deemed permissible to acquire, citing the hadith: "Seek, even if it be a ring of iron." They also consider the hadiths prohibiting this to be weak. As for women, they are absolutely permitted to wear whatever they wish for adornment or other purposes.
