What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a husband who abstains from his wife for a year or more while they are in the same house, and he has no physical illness?

It is obligatory for the husband to treat his wife well, and this includes intercourse, as it is a right for the wife, and abandoning it harms her, which is not permissible شرعًا (Islamically). Some scholars are of the opinion that intercourse is obligatory once every four months, while others believe it is obligatory according to the wife's need and the husband's ability, which is the more correct view. A husband abandoning his wife for a year or more does not make her forbidden to him, as mere abstention from intercourse is not an ila' (vow of abstinence) according to the majority of scholars.
