What is your opinion on the Sahab forum, where criticism and disparagement of scholars and their students are rampant, and what is your advice to us concerning this matter?

The advice of Sheikh Ibn Baz - may Allah have mercy on him - to forum users and others is not to delve into the honor of callers to Islam and students of knowledge, because that is:

1. An infringement upon their rights and a cause for disunity among Muslims.

2. Assisting the enemies of Islam and those lying in wait.

3. Corrupting hearts and spreading rumors.

4. Based on conjectures, not facts.

5. Contrary to the jurisprudential methodology in dealing with the ijtihads (independent reasoning) of scholars.

The Sheikh advises these individuals to repent and abandon this path, and to busy themselves with what benefits people.
