Childbearing is a shared right of both spouses, and it is not permissible for the wife to refuse it without a valid excuse. The reasons mentioned are not valid excuses. The wife must obey her husband in childbearing. However, if the husband agrees not to have children, then there is no sin upon him. If the husband desires to have children and his wife does not obey him, he may marry another woman if he is able.
