Is it permissible for the wife to interfere and object to her husband if he is mistaken in his decisions?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If a wife sees that her husband's decision on a certain matter deviates from what is right, there is no harm in guiding and advising him gently and courteously. Indeed, it may sometimes be obligatory for her to do so, because "religion is advice." Umm Salama, may Allah be pleased with her, advised the Prophet (peace be upon him) at the time of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) accepted her advice. Husbands should accept the truth from their wives.
