Is it permissible not to pay the teacher's wage if the student did not benefit from him?

You are obligated to pay the teacher the agreed-upon fee, for Allah Almighty says: "O you who have believed, fulfill [your] contracts." The student's lack of understanding or absence does not nullify the teacher's right to the fee.
