What should a 25-year-old girl do, whose family is suffering from difficult financial circumstances due to her father's negligence and smoking, and she does not wish to work but is forced to, and she refuses to marry anyone who does not want a working woman? Should she work to help her family, or should she get married?

You are not obligated to earn a living to spend on your family; rather, your father is obligated to earn a living to spend on them. Your father does not have the right to refuse suitors because he wishes for you to work so that he can benefit from your earnings. If a suitor proposes to you and you are pleased with his religion and character, then hasten to accept him and do not leave him for the sake of a job. After marriage, your maintenance is obligatory upon your husband, and you can help your family with what you can if Allah expands your provision.
