Is it true that Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said "Ahlus-Sunnah" (People of the Sunnah) after citing a Quranic verse and a Prophetic Hadith, and what is the ruling of Hadith scholars on the chain of narration for this statement?

The narrated tradition from Ibn Abbas regarding the interpretation of the Almighty's saying: {the Day [some] faces will turn white and [some] faces will turn black}, and that those whose faces turn white are the People of Sunnah and the Community (Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah), and those whose faces turn black are the people of innovation and misguidance, is a very weak or fabricated tradition. This is due to the سقوط سنده (collapse of its chain of narration) because of the presence of liars and weak narrators in it. Moreover, anyone who reflects upon it will find it objectionable, as it contradicts the explicit text of the Quran, which clarified that those whose faces turn black are the disbelievers, and those whose faces turn white are the people of Allah's mercy. Nevertheless, many scholars have circulated it in their books without refuting it.
