Should the questioner leave his current job—despite its stability and lack of development—and accept a new job offer in a different field (sales) with a lower salary and fewer benefits, even with the potential for future development, or is the inadequacy of the financial offer, after repeated negotiations, a sign from the Istikhara prayer that it must be rejected?

The prayer of Istikhara and its supplication require the servant to entrust his affairs to Allah, so that He may choose what is best for him, because the servant is weak and does not know the consequences of matters. He may dislike something which is good for him, and love something which is evil for him, as Allah the Almighty said: "And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know." It is recommended to repeat the Istikhara prayer, as a persistence in supplication and a request for inner peace and tranquility of heart. The sign of Istikhara may be inner peace, or it may not be. In either case, the one performing Istikhara should proceed with his affair and be content with what Allah decrees for him, for whatever Allah decrees for him is good, whether he remains in his work or moves to another.
