What is the ruling of the pure Sharia on embalming animals and birds and displaying them in majalis for decoration?

It is not permissible to embalm animals and hang them, as this constitutes a waste of money and makes them a means of attachment to the embalmed object, leading to the belief that it repels calamity. Furthermore, it is a means of displaying pictures of animate beings.
