What is the ruling on using cracked software and benefiting financially from it, knowing that the device does not support modern versions and older versions are not supported by the developer? Is it permissible to use pirated software out of necessity?

The fatwa we follow is that it is impermissible to infringe upon the rights of authors and software owners by copying their works or creating cracks, and it is not permissible to use them without their permission. A student of knowledge and others are equal in this ruling. However, some scholars permit this if it is for personal use and not for earning money, and there is no blame on whoever acts upon their opinion if they are confident in its correctness.
