Is it permissible to work as a cook in a restaurant that plays music if the cook does not hear it?

If the workplace does not play music and there is no other forbidden evil, such as unlawful mixing, then there is no harm in working there. The criterion is the presence and audibility of the evil. Therefore, an invited person to a feast where there is an evil that he neither sees nor hears is given the choice between staying and leaving, as mentioned by Al-Mardawi Al-Hanbali.
