Is it permissible to conceal from your family your fiancé’s infertility, knowing that you agree to it?
Infertility is a defect that permits the annulment of the marriage for the other party. If the suitor did not disclose it and the woman learned of it after the marriage contract, she has the right to annul the marriage, provided that she did not know about it and consent to the marriage; because her consent after knowledge forfeits her right to choose. If the woman is an adult of sound judgment and consents to infertility, she is not obligated to inform her guardian, but it is advisable to consult him as that is better for her. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade marriage to one who is not affectionate and fertile.
