If your father is as you described, you must maintain ties with him to the best of your ability without incurring harm upon yourself. It is your duty towards him to advise him to do good and forbid him from evil with gentleness and wisdom. If you fulfill your duty towards him and do not mistreat him, then his anger or his supplication against you will not harm you.
