Is it permissible to pay Zakat al-Mal (charitable giving on wealth) to a project for printing the Noble Quran?

The recipients of zakat (definition) are specified in the verse: "Indeed, [ prescribed] charitable donations are only for the poor and the needy, and those who work on [collecting] them, and those whose hearts are to be reconciled, and for [freeing] captives, and for those in debt, and for the cause of Allah , and for the wayfarer." The meaning of "for the cause of Allah" (fi sabilillah) refers to jihad and what assists it, according to the majority of scholars. Therefore, printing the Quran does not fall under the categories of zakat recipients.
