Committing many sins, such as listening to music and watching immoral films, hardens the heart, affects acts of worship, and causes anxiety, delaying prayers, and falling short in performing supererogatory acts and reciting the Quran. Singing cultivates hypocrisy in the heart, distracts from the Quran, and prevents one from pondering over it and acting upon its teachings. Indeed, singing and the Quran cannot coexist. One must repent and cease these sins for the sweetness of faith and the tranquility of the heart to return. The questioner is advised to be gentle with his sister, invite her to the right path with kindness, explain the danger of these destructive sins, and be good to her even if she is harsh. For indeed, abundant acts of worship soften the heart and remove its hardness.
