What is the ruling on a barber who shaves beards for people and takes payment for that, and is it permissible for him to stop the young men working for him to change the type of work?

Shaving the beard is unlawful (haram). For a barber's profession to be permissible, it is stipulated that only what is permissible to shave, such as head hair and mustache, should be shaved. Money earned from unlawful acts, like shaving beards and plucking eyebrows, is not permissible. The shop owner must stop these unlawful practices and limit themselves to what is lawful.
