Is searching for ways or reading books to strengthen faith forbidden?

The Muslim's role is to strive to strengthen and increase his faith, as stated in the Hadith: "The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer." A Muslim must utilize all lawful means to increase and strengthen faith, and this cannot be forbidden. One must employ the means of increasing faith, such as adhering to remembrance (dhikr), preserving obedience, keeping company with the righteous, continually contemplating Allah's names, attributes, and blessings, and reading books that aid in this endeavor.
