Does the divorce of an addicted husband suffering from psychosis, who imagines unreal things, take effect, and if he says: "Divorced, divorced, divorced," is it counted as one divorce or three?

If a husband does not comprehend what he is saying due to illness, his divorce (talaq) does not take effect. However, if he comprehends what he is saying and intends it, then it does take effect. Regarding the divorce of an inebriated person who does not comprehend what he is saying, there is a difference of opinion, but the preponderant view is that it does not take effect. If the word of divorce is repeated three times without the intention of initiating a divorce with each utterance—for instance, if the intention was to emphasize or if there was no specific intention at all—then only one divorce takes effect.
