Who is the Companion Rafi' ibn Malik?

Rafi' ibn Malik was an Ansar, Khazraji Companion. He witnessed Al-Aqabah and was one of the chieftains (nuqaba'). He participated in the Battle of Badr, according to Musa ibn Uqbah's narration from Ibn Shihab, while Ibn Ishaq did not count him among the Badr participants. He was the first from the Khazraj to embrace Islam, and he was martyred in the Battle of Uhud.
