There is no evidence for the permissibility of reciting the Qur’an or supplications when a child is born. It is recommended to congratulate the parents and supplicate for the newborn with blessings. There are recommended rulings for the newborn, including the adhan (call to prayer) in his right ear, shaving his head and giving charity of silver equivalent to its weight, the aqiqah (sacrificial offering), giving him a good name, circumcision, and taking care of his upbringing. A woman can supplicate before, during, or after childbirth in a way that suits her condition, for the supplication of the distressed is answered. To facilitate childbirth, one can write verses from the Qur’an such as "Ayat al-Kursi" and Surah "Al-Inshiqaq," then drink the water it was dissolved in, or sprinkle it, which some predecessors permitted. There is no specific verse or hadith for facilitating conception; rather, it is achieved through general supplication and taking means such as consulting a doctor, while relying on Allah.
