Is it permissible for my father to give his Zakat to my wife?

The basic principle is that the wife is not given from Zakat because her maintenance is obligatory upon her husband. However, if the husband is unable to provide maintenance and his wife is poor or in debt, then it is permissible for your father to give the Zakat of his wealth to your wife.
