What is the ruling of the Sharia on one who does not prostrate for the prostration of recitation (Sajdat al-Tilawah) with the congregation in the mosque, claiming that their recitation is an innovation (bid’ah)?

The prostration of recitation (Sujud al-Tilawah) is a Sunnah for both the reciter and the listener. It is recommended for the listener to prostrate under conditions that are subject to differing opinions, among them: sitting with the intention of learning the Quran, the reciter's eligibility to lead prayer at the time of recitation, and that the reciter did not intend to show off his beautiful recitation to people. If these conditions are not met for the listener, then he is not required to perform the prostration of recitation.
