Is a son considered sinful if he prevents his father from visiting him in his home due to his annoying behavior and his divulging of family secrets, while committing to sending him a monthly sum that covers his father's expenses and exceeds them?
The right of the father is great, and his misconduct does not nullify it. Therefore, a child preventing his father from entering his home and sending him money is an offense and an insult. If the father is harmed by this, it is a forbidden act of disobedience. However, the child has the right to avoid harm from his father. The solution is not to prevent the father from visiting, but rather to use wisdom and diplomacy to minimize the harms resulting from his visit without completely preventing him, and to conceal what can be concealed of household matters. It is permissible to use stratagems, veiled language, and ambiguity in this regard.
