What is the religious ruling regarding my situation, given that I suffer from epileptic seizures that have caused me extreme fear of leaving the house and led to Satanic whispers tempting me to commit suicide, especially since ruqyah (Islamic exorcism) did not reveal any jinn possession or sorcery? And is my abandoning Friday prayer due to fear of this condition considered an act of disbelief (kufr)?

We ask Allah to grant you healing and well-being. Know that what Allah has afflicted you with is good for you if you endure it with patience and seek reward (from Him). Satan will continue to whisper to you about suicide or abandoning prayer in the mosque, so beware of his cunning and seek help from Allah.

Your criticism of the shaykhs who performed ruqyah for you is not accurate. Epilepsy is of two types: epilepsy caused by jinn and devils, and organic epilepsy, which is what doctors discuss. Epilepsy can be controlled, and its seizures can be prevented by up to 90%, and complete and long-term control may be achieved.

We advise you with the following: 1. Patience in affliction: Do not despair of Allah's mercy. Emulate the black woman who chose patience over epilepsy in exchange for Paradise. "Ata' ibn Abi Rabah said: Ibn Abbas said to me: 'Shall I show you a woman from the people of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'This black woman came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: 'I suffer from epilepsy and I become uncovered. So, supplicate to Allah for me.' He said: '(If you wish, you can be patient and you will have Paradise; and if you wish, I will supplicate to Allah to cure you).' She said: 'I will be patient.' She then said: 'But I become uncovered, so supplicate to Allah that I do not become uncovered.' So, he supplicated for her." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim). 2. Consult specialized doctors: Go to neurologists to accurately diagnose your condition. 3. Repel Satan's whispers: Repel the whispers with strong faith, acts of obedience, remembrances (adhkar), and reading the Quran. 4. Associate with the righteous and go to mosques: Pray in congregation. If you do not fear having a seizure, then it is not permissible for you to miss Friday prayers and congregational prayers. It is preferable to have a righteous companion who knows your condition and can accompany you to the mosque.
