Many Companions, both men and women, were given glad tidings of Paradise. However, the ten who were given glad tidings were mentioned in a single , and they are: Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali, Talha, Al-Zubayr, Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, Sa'id ibn Zayd, and Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah, as narrated in the hadith of Al-Tirmidhi and others.
