Is it permissible to sell a ram donated for sacrifice in the way of Allah in order to improve the family's situation, and is a ram less than one year old sufficient for an Aqiqah?

It is not permissible to sell a part of the hady (sacrificial animal offered in Hajj or Umrah (definition)) or udhiyah (definition) (sacrificial animal offered during Eid al-Adha) unless it is for the benefit of the hady itself, because what a person has dedicated to Allah cannot be sold. It is forbidden to sell anything from the udhiyah, whether meat or anything else, even its hide. The butcher should not be given any part of it as payment for his labor. It is not permissible to dispose of the udhiyah in a way that prevents its sacrifice, such as by selling, gifting, or mortgaging it, unless it is replaced with something better for the benefit of the udhiyah. The general rule for a ram is that it must be one year old to be sacrificed. It is permissible to sacrifice a jadha' from sheep, which is six months old. The hadith (definition) "Do not slaughter anything but a musinnah (a fully-grown animal), unless it becomes difficult for you, in which case you may slaughter a jadha' from sheep," indicates that the age considered valid by Islamic law is one year. The conditions for aqiqah (definition) (the sacrifice made on the occasion of a child's birth) are the same as those for udhiyah, and it is permissible to perform aqiqah with a sheep that has reached six months of age.
