The best way to teach a child is by teaching him what suits his age, intellect, and mental aptitudes, gradually progressing him from the principles of knowledge. After memorizing the Quran, he should be taught the Three Fundamental Principles (Al-Usul Ath-Thalatha) in creed, and Al-Akhdari's book or similar concise jurisprudential texts. In Seerah (Prophet's biography), he should learn Al-Lamati's poem and stories from the lives of the Companions and the Successors.
