To what extent is it permissible for a doctor to reveal a patient's secret, and to whom, if he discovers that an unmarried girl is pregnant? What is his responsibility towards her? Is it understood from the story of the adulterous woman who came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be be upon him, that concealment is obligatory? And what does a female doctor learn from this hadith?

A Muslim doctor is entrusted with the secrets of his patients, and it is not permissible for him to disclose them except out of a necessity sanctioned by Islamic law. He must conceal the sin of a fornicating girl, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Avoid this abomination that Allah has forbidden. So whoever commits it, let him conceal himself with Allah's concealment," and "Whoever conceals a Muslim, Allah will conceal him in this world and the Hereafter."

She should be admonished and warned about Allah, and commanded to make sincere repentance, because Islamic law aims to refine society and prevent evils. As for the ruler, if a punishment prescribed by Allah's law reaches him, he must implement it.
