What should one who intends to perform Hajj or Umrah do upon reaching the Miqat?

Upon reaching the Miqat, it is commendable for the pilgrim (muhrim) to perform a ritual bath (ghusl) and apply perfume. They should also trim whatever needs trimming, such as the mustache, nails, pubic hair, and armpit hair. It is not prescribed to take anything from the head, and shaving the beard is prohibited. Then, the male should wear two white cloths, an izar (waist wrapper) and a rida (upper garment), along with sandals. The woman may wear whatever she wishes, provided it does not resemble men's clothing, and she must not wear a niqab (face veil) or gloves. Then, one should make the intention in their heart for the rite they desire. It is prescribed for them to vocalize the intention by saying: "Labbaik Umrah" (Here I am for Umrah), or "Labbaik Hajj" (Here I am for Hajj), or "Labbaik Umrah wa Hajj" (Here I am for Umrah and Hajj), preferably after settling on their mount. As for prayer and circumambulation (tawaf), vocalizing the intention for them is an innovation.
